Cleaning Sydney began on a restless night… 4:00 A.M. Maria lay wide awake, imagining a horrifying future where mountains of litter drowned the places we live in. Instead of waiting for someone else to fix it, she envisioned what Sydney could look like if people like her, who care about the environment, could come together and protect it. In that moment, something sparked. By January 2025, Cleaning Sydney has  established, beginning with a dedicated community of volunteers, cleaning public spaces for a safer and enjoyable environment for everyone
